How to install PS4 games on USB external drive

I got lots of request to about PS4 games USB installation introduction. I completed my research and finally, I’m sharing with you how you can install PS4 games on your external USB hard drive. In this article, I’ll not only guide you how to install PS4 games on USB but also guide you how you can copy ps4 games to external hard drive. This process only works up to PS4 5.05 jailbreak. PS4 has three models Fat, slim and Pro. PS4 fat hard drive changing process is too easy according to slim and PRO.  Some PS4 owners don’t want to touch his console. There can be many reasons. PS4 comes with 500GB it’s mean you can install limited games in your console. If you want to install more games on your console then you need to upgrade your hard drive. As I said changing hard drive process is not easy with every console and for everyone.

Now you no need to worry because now you can use your external hard drive to install more PS4 games. You can use any external hard drive up to 8TB but it should USB 3.0. PS4 supports only FAT32 and exFAT format. FAT32 formatted external hard drive will not allow you to put larger than 4GB file. So, I suggest you use exFAT format and format it using your PS4 console. Format USB external hard drive

1. Plug your USB drive on your PS4 console.
2. Go to setting → Devices → USB Storage Devices
3. Choose your USB drive
4. Format as Extended Storage

We far four-step away to install PS4 games on USB external drive and we completed our first step. Your USB drive is now ready to install or copy PS4 games. In the second step, you need to inject AppToUsb.bin Payload on your PS4 console. Follow the below-mentioned introduction.

Inject AppToUsb.bin Payload on your PS4 console

1. Download required files and extract it anywhere on your computer.
2. Connect internet on your PS4 console.
3. Go to setting and open users guide.
4. Choose 5.05 or your jailbroken firmware.
5. Click on bin loader (You’ll see a message ‘waiting payload’
6. Run AIO software on your computer.
7. Connect AIO to your PS4 console using your PS4 IP address.
8. Select AppToUsb.bin and inject it on your PS4 console.

Now, we successfully inject AppToUsb.bin on our PS4 console. We completed our second step. after extract required files you’ll get a file called AppToUsb.ini file. So, you have to modify it first which is our third step. Follow the below-mentioned introduction.

Modify AppToUsb.ini file?

1. Open AppToUsb.ini file with notepad.
2. Remove both slashes from //CHECK_USB (It should look like CHECK_USB)
3. Remove both slashes from //IGNORE_UPDATES (It should look like IGNORE_UPDATES)
4. Find your game ID which you want to install on your PS4 console (You can find your game using PS4 FTP or using the ps4database website )
5. Replace CUSAXXXX1, CUSAXXXX2, CUSAXXXX3 with your game ID.
6. Save it and put it on your USB root (USB should be formatted with FAT32 or exFAT)

We have successfully modified our AppToUsb.ini file. Now it’s time to install PS4 games on our USB external hard drive which is our fourth and last step. But before the start, you should have any game in Fake PKG formate. So, follow the mentioned below introduction.

How to install PS4 games on USB external drive?

1. Create a folder on your USB drive and name it PS4
2. Create another folder inside PS4 and name it with your game ID.
3. Put your PS4 PKG file on your game ID folder. (Make sure you have AppToUsb.ini file on your USB root)
4. Go to setting and open users guide.
5. Choose 5.05 or your jailbroken firmware.
6. Click App2USB (It will show you warning twice, you can stop this process to unplug your USB drive).
7. Copying process Apps to USB process will start after few second.
8. It will found automatically pkg from your USB drive.

Copying/installation process will take some time so have patience and do not turn off your console. Once you got the complete message then it’s mean you have successfully installed PS4 games on your USB external drive. Now let’s talk about how you can transfer installed PS4 games from PS4 internal drive to USB external drive. To transfer your PS4 game from internal drive to USB, you have to modify again AppToUsb.ini file. So, follow the below-mentioned introduction.

How to copy ps4 games to external hard drive

1. Open AppToUsb.ini file with notepad.
2. Remove both slashes from //CHECK_USB (It should look like CHECK_USB)
3. Remove both slashes from //IGNORE_UPDATES (It should look like IGNORE_UPDATES)
4. Replace your game id with CUSAXXXX1, CUSAXXXX2, CUSAXXXX3 with your game ID which you want to copy.
5. Save it and put it on your USB root (USB should be formatted with FAT32 or exFAT)
6. Go to Setting → Users Guide → Choose your jailbroken firmware.
7. Click on App2USB and wait until you get the complete message.
