If your console already updated. Then you no need to update it. You can use the same jailbreak version to stay jailbroken on your console. If you are on the OFW version then you are not able to jailbreak with the same file. You should use PS3Xploit v3.0. PS3Xploit v3.0 helps you to jailbreak your console. Does not matter with the console model and version you have. You can use any PS3 console model such as PS3 FAT, slim, and super slim up to 4.82 firmware.
