Important Notice for Installation:
To install PS3 Lock v0.91, ensure that your PS3 is running a compatible version of Custom Firmware (CFW). If you encounter issues, make sure the USB device is properly set up and inserted into the correct port on startup.
Installing Instruction (CFW)
- Prepare Your PS3:
- Ensure your PS3 is running a compatible version of Custom Firmware (CFW). If you’re unsure about your CFW version, check your system settings to verify compatibility.
- Download the PS3 Lock v0.91 Package:
- Download the PS3Lockv0.91 package file from the provided link.
- Set Up USB Authentication (Optional but Recommended):
- Insert a USB device into your computer and create a folder named “dev_usb000” (without quotes) on the USB drive. Make sure the USB device is plugged into the right-most USB port on your PS3 (next to the BD drive) before starting your PS3. This USB device will be used for additional authentication if you want to use USB login.
- Install PS3 Lock v0.91:
- On your PS3, go to the XMB (Cross Media Bar) and open the Package Manager. Select the PS3 Lock v0.91 package file that you downloaded earlier. Install the package like any other PS3 package.
- Set the Password:
- After installation, your PS3 will prompt you to set a password. The password should be at least 2 digits and no more than 10 digits. Use the pad buttons to set your password. To cancel the entry, press L3, and to save the password, press R3.
- Enable USB Authentication (If Using USB):
- If you’re using USB authentication, go to the PS3 Lock Settings menu on your PS3. Enable “USB Authentication” in the settings menu for USB-based login.
- Test the Lock Functionality:
- After setting the password, restart your PS3 to check if the password is required to access the system. After 3 incorrect password attempts, the PS3 will automatically shut down.
- Done!
- Your PS3 is now protected by PS3 Lock v0.91, and the password is required to access the system or perform actions like system updates and settings changes.
