PSN Patch is a useful homebrew tool that is designed to help users safely access the PlayStation Network (PSN) while using Custom Firmware (CFW) or Homebrew Enabler (HEN). This tool offers features like console ID spoofing, disabling CFW syscalls, and cleaning the boot history to make your PS3 less detectable when connecting to PSN. The tool also includes an optional Cobra plugin that unloads from memory after activation. While it enhances PSN access safety, it’s important to note that no method is foolproof, and there’s always a risk of being banned.

How to Use (Summary by kozarovv):
- General rule: Install PSN Patch –> Run –> Go to Toolbox (Select) –> Install PSN Patch plugin. After that, restart your PS3. It’s a one-time process.
- Your PSN access should be locked until you use the L3+R3+R2 combination from the XMB.
- Generally, you need to mount the game, use the combo, and run the game. That’s it!
- Remember: If you want to change games or run any homebrew, you need to restart your PS3 first to lock PSN access. There is no 100% guarantee that you won’t get banned.
A new homebrew blocker is included in the PSNPatch plugin (only in the plugin). It is enabled by default. If you don’t want to use it, go into the PSNPatch XMB application, toolbox menu, and disable it there.
The homebrew blocker prevents homebrew execution when CFW syscalls are disabled. Execution will be locked until the next reboot. It runs in Cobra, Near-Cobra (Mamba), and Non-Cobra systems.
This implementation is compatible with potential future Cobra updates for core homebrew blockers.
The approach used is detailed in the homebrew_blocker module source code included in this PSNPatch distribution.
The plugin was heavily tested, including simulated crashes, forced reboots, recovery menu accesses, file system recovery, and database rebuilds. So far, it’s failsafe proof, but as usual, there is no warranty.
