What’s New in Simplicity v2.58.3:
- Initial Release: This is a modified version of the well-known backup-loaded “Iris Manager”. The base version used is v2.58 by Estwald. The primary goal of this fork was to simplify the GUI and make it more polished.
- Background Colors: Background colors have been removed, leaving a simple black color scheme.
- Music Removal: Music has been completely removed from the interface.
- UI Simplification: Date, Time, Temp, and Device Space indicators have also been removed for a cleaner interface.
- Cover Flow Mode: In cover flow mode, game sorting by console has been removed.
- FTP Icon Color: The FTP icon’s color has been modified for better visibility.
- Other GUI Changes: Various minor improvements to the overall user interface for a cleaner look.
- Navigation Controls: The navigation controls have been altered:
- “X” is used to accept options. “O” is used to go back.“Triangle” opens game settings “Square” is not used. “Select” opens global settings.“Start” is not used.
Important Notice for Installation:
It is recommended to remove any old versions of Simplicity before installing v2.58.3 for the best experience.
InstInstalling Instruction :
For CFW (Custom Firmware):
- Ensure that your PS3 is running a compatible version of Custom Firmware (CFW).
- Remove any previous versions of Simplicity before installing v2.58.3 for optimal performance.
- Install dev_blind (if not already mounted) before proceeding with the installation. This is crucial to avoid errors during the installation process.
- Use your package manager to install Simplicity v2.58.3. Simply select the
.PKGfile and begin the installation. - Once installed, launch Simplicity v2.58.3 and enjoy the simplified and polished user interface!
For HEN (Homebrew Enabler):
- Ensure that your PS3 is running a version of Homebrew Enabler (HEN) that supports the installation of homebrew applications.
- Remove any older versions of Simplicity to prevent conflicts with the new installation.
- Mount dev_blind to avoid installation errors.
- Install the Simplicity v2.58.3 package using your package manager.
- After installation, access Simplicity v2.58.3 from the XMB and experience the new features.
